Programs, workshops and keynotes

Your people leave with skills, not just notes.

You get a speaker who comes early, stays late, and rolls with all the punches and unexpected A/V disasters.

Every topic is customized to your team, your industry and the conversations your people actually have.

First impressions

Connect with Ease

What if people trusted you before you said a word?

  • Make a strong first impression on purpose. Own the three moments that matter most: walking in, looking around the room and the first words.
  • Show warmth and confidence at the same time. Stop choosing between being liked and being respected.
  • Build trust fast, in person and on camera.

Reading people

Read the Room

What if you could see what people aren't saying?

  • Notice comfort and discomfort. Read clusters of behavior and changes from someone's normal, not single gestures.
  • Ask the right question at the right moment, so concerns surface before they become problems.
  • Run better meetings and one-on-ones, where people actually open up.

Leading when emotions run high

Calm the Conflict

What if you could walk into the hardest conversation of the year and know exactly what to do next?

  • Spot tension early, before a conversation boils over.
  • Bring the temperature down with breath, voice, pace and space. Calm is contagious.
  • Walk in with a plan, so nobody freezes, flees or fights.

Boundaries without the backlash

Say No with Grace

What if you could say no and still be liked?

  • Say no clearly and kindly with a five-step formula that protects the relationship.
  • Hold the line when someone pushes. Recognize pressure tactics and stay steady without over-explaining.
  • Protect time for the work that matters, and decline the rest without guilt.

The method

The CROWN Protocol™

Five skills for the moments that decide how people see you, verbal and nonverbal. Body language runs through all of them.

CConnect with easeFirst impressions in leadership, networking and sales.
RReveal on purposeBuild depth and trust by letting yourself be known.
OOffer supportRespond well when emotions show up at work.
WWithstand pressureSpot pressure tactics and say no with grace.
NNegotiate conflictDe-escalate and resolve.

The CROWN Protocol builds on Buhrmester's interpersonal competence framework, nearly 40 years of research, and on the methods of former FBI behavioral analysts such as Joe Navarro, a 25-year FBI special agent and a founding member of the FBI's Behavioral Analysis Program.

The standard I teach to: Body language is a crucial indicator of someone's state of mind. Lie detection is a hotly debated topic, even among body language and detection experts. If something isn't academically solid, scientifically based and tested extensively in the real world, I don't teach it.
